Yosemite Falls

This is a photo of Yosemite Falls.  My family and I went up there a couple of years back while there was still snow up there.  There wasn’t too much water coming off the falls but it sure was beautiful.

Butterfly

June 11th, 2009

Butterfly

This is a picture of a butterfly that I took while camping up in the Yosemite area.  I saw this butterfly flying around flapping his wings open and closing.  I had only a portion of a second to try to catch him with his wings open.  This is as good as I got.

Stairway To Heaven

Stairway To Heaven - Yosemite, California

By far one of the most beautiful sceneries in Yosemite is from the top of Glacier Point looking down at Vernal Falls at the very bottom and then you have Nevada Falls up on your right.  On your top left you have Half Dome.  I get inspired every time I see this photo.  I took it while I went camping with my wife’s cousins and uncle.  We drive to Glacier Point and snapped this photo and then camped over at Yosemite Lakes.  I snapped this photo with my Canon Digital Rebel XT.  Very nice scenery here.

Vernal Falls - Yosemite, California

This is a photo of Vernal Falls in Yosemite National Park in California.  I took this photo around the late winter and the water coming off the falls was very little.  I love the whole light that is there though.  I snapped this photo with my Minolta Dimage 5.

Big Tree

February 10th, 2009

Big Tree from Yosemite National Park

Yosemite is home to some of the biggest trees in the world but if you havent seen them then now is your time to get up there and see it for yourself.  Trees that are so big people back in the day made paths through them to drive.  That is pretty big.  This one here seems to have been dead for some time now.  I think it is about 15 feet high on its side.  I cant imagine how tall it used to be when it was on its base.  I snapped this photo with my Minolta Dimage 5.

Yosemite Valley

Yosemite Valley

I don’t think I would need to do any explaining here. This is a photo of the famous Yosemite National Park.  El Capitan is on your left and one of the waterfalls is on your right.  This is always one of my favorite places to go but lately it just seems too packed with all of the people.  I snapped this photo with my Minolta Dimage 5.

Toulomne Meadows

Toulomne Meadows

This is a photo of Toulomne Meadows just above Tioga Pass in California.  Very nice place.  It is peaceful and full of fresh air.  I went on a road trip one day and we went over to Yosemite, then up through Tioga Pass and then over to Mammoth Lakes, then over to Lake Tahoe.  It was a long drive but I think it was well worth it.  I took this picture with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT and the Canon 17-55mm lens.

Vernal Falls Waterfall in California
This photo was taken with my Minolta Dimage 5 at Yosemite National Park in California. This is a photo of Vernal Falls. You can see how the tree seems to have grown directly from the rock. Amazing!
