This weekend was nice to get away. Dos Palos High School just started and the helpdesk tickets have been pouring in. I really need time with the family to get away. We really weren’t sure where we were going but we knew we wanted to get to the beach.
We ended up driving to Monterey to do a little shopping and then we drove over to Pebble Beach where there was the Concours d’Elegance event that was going on. Lots of really exotic and expensive cars. We were able to snap a few photos while we were driving through.
Finally, we found an easy to access area to the beach and we pulled out the blanket and the umbrella and the Barbeque Grill to do a little cooking. We even saw some people getting ready to go out scuba diving. I thought to myself, these people are crazy. The water had to be about 30-40 degrees.
That is all for now. Thanks for reading.
Semper Fidelis,
Manuel Perez

These are some photos of the Purple Jellyfish that are located at the aquarium inside the Academy of Science Museum in San Francisco, CA. These creatures are beautiful.

I came across another photo of the purple critter on flickr from user cdubya1971.
Thanks for reading.

Hello all! It has been a long time! Been too busy to post anything. We have a lot of things going on with computer side jobs. I did however get to go and enjoy some much needed time with the family this Monday and Tuesday. We traveled to San Francisco to enjoy the nice cool air. We went to see the New York Yankees play the Oakland A’s and on Tuesday we went to visit the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. I took this photo of one of the jellyfish.
I must say the museum is amazing. There are a lot of cool things to see. The museum is right in the middle of The Golden Gate Park. I don’t know why there was so many people on a Tuesday but it seems that there was a lot of kids from the Boys and Girls Club. We enjoyed it. I also got to see the Planetarium and it is amazing how they used a dome 75 foot projection screen along with 6 projectors to give you a real life 3d experience.
If you are in San Francisco and you have a day to spare then go and visit the museum and enjoy it.
Thanks for reading.
Sincerely,
Manuel Perez
Our church is making another Central America trip this weekend and I will not be attending. Our pastor, his wife, son and their sons friend will be visiting Honduras for a couple of days to do some mission work. They will then go and visit El Salvador for a couple of days and then go to Guatemala for the last few days.
Back in 2006 I got to go on this Central American Mission which I thought was amazing. I loved all the culture and the scenery. I did however catch some awful flu that made me ill for a couple of days. When I went we did not go to El Salvador. The church is making this stop to visit their daughter’s in-laws.
While I was there we got to experience the area by encountering some river riding along the Rio Dulce in Guatemala. We also visited some villages with many people that live poorly. We hosted a three night church revival which got the attention of many believers and some non-believers. It caused a couple of issues with the locals but it wasn’t that bad.
We also saw a baptism that took place in probably one of the coolest looking rivers in Honduras. We drove into the jungle for a while and pulled over and hiked down into a stream and witnessed the baptism.
To hear how the people enjoyed our visit is great. I recall the children’s expressions as the church bought a bunch of pizzas and allowed all the children in one village to come and eat. It flew by very quickly.
I cant say I will go to Central America again soon but I know it is something I plan to do again in my lifetime. I just hope that with the way things are in the United States that it doesn’t make it harder to visit these other countries and work with them.

I heard that the Central Valley Farmers are supposed to get more water this year. That is great because the Valley really hasn’t been the same since the cut backs on the water. Because of the water loss many farmers have closed their ranches and left. This leaves a lot of farm workers without jobs and ways to support their families which in then crashes the economy because the workers leave the area lowering the population and causing cutbacks in school attendance which in then crashes everything else.
I hope that people will realize that the world doesn’t revolve around one fish to save over million of people. Don’t they realize if there is no water for these crops then there is no food for the millions of people that get their produce from our fields?
I know that it should hopefully increase the chances of taking more agriculture photos. I love to capture the moments of the harvests. I have been waiting for the chance to catch the photos of the cotton harvest. I have been wanting to do that ever since my grandfather was an irrigator and used to drive the cotton picker during the season. Even when I worked for the local John Deere company in town did I get a chance to snap a photo of the huge combines that pick the cotton. Hopefully this year!

Manuel Perez was putting his stuff in the car this morning getting ready to go to work when he noticed this big glow in the sky. He jumped in the car and noticed that the sky seemed to be on fire. He drove over by the lake and snapped this and a few more photos. It is a good thing he caught it when he did because as soon as he drove down the highway it seemed to just vanish because of the clouds rolling in from the north.

I got to do some traveling last week. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary and we went down to Palm Springs and Los Angeles area. We went over to Laguna Beach to see the sunset and went to some restaurant for dinner which wasn’t very good. I cant remember the name but it ended with Grille. We ordered some special which was a steak that seemed to be burnt on the outside where it tasted just like charcoal and was red and bloody on the inside. The desert was even burnt beyond edible. I wasn’t happy.
This is a photo of the sunset from Laguna Beach that I photographed. I plan on uploading some more photos from the Palm Springs area but we will see when.
I want to wish you all a Happy New Year and please be careful out there.

This is a photo that I took while in Guatemala back in 2006 with my church. We were on a boat cruising along The Rio Dulce. Very beautiful place.

This is a photo of two Mallard Ducks that were swimming in the pond at Casa De Fruta. I love to see animals together. I had heard that the Mallard Duck is one that will find a mate and will never find another. I don’t know if that is true according to some reading. If anyone else has more information, we would love to hear it.
