Beautiful Flower
Castillo De San Felipe – Guatemala

A sign marking the “Torreon De Bustamante” dedicated or created in the year 1595. This photo was taken at the Castillo De San Felipe just in the middle of Lake Izabal or Lago Izabal which feeds out to the Gulf through the Rio Dulce.
The Tower where the canons are still in place. This is a very beautiful place to see if you are ever in Guatemala.
Carmel Beach

This weekend was nice to get away. Dos Palos High School just started and the helpdesk tickets have been pouring in. I really need time with the family to get away. We really weren’t sure where we were going but we knew we wanted to get to the beach.
We ended up driving to Monterey to do a little shopping and then we drove over to Pebble Beach where there was the Concours d’Elegance event that was going on. Lots of really exotic and expensive cars. We were able to snap a few photos while we were driving through.
Finally, we found an easy to access area to the beach and we pulled out the blanket and the umbrella and the Barbeque Grill to do a little cooking. We even saw some people getting ready to go out scuba diving. I thought to myself, these people are crazy. The water had to be about 30-40 degrees.
That is all for now. Thanks for reading.

Guanajuato, Mexico

This is a photo of an alley from the city of Guanajuato, Guanajuato, Mexico. This photo is back from 2004 when my family went down to visit the beautiful area. This alley is very tiny though. I am not sure how many cars can fit through here but it is some amazing work that the city has to view. When we visited they were working on rebuilding the streets using stone by stone to give it that old fashioned look and feel.
I plan on going back someday soon. Just not sure!

The Jelly Man Lives

Hello all! It has been a long time! Been too busy to post anything. We have a lot of things going on with computer side jobs. I did however get to go and enjoy some much needed time with the family this Monday and Tuesday. We traveled to San Francisco to enjoy the nice cool air. We went to see the New York Yankees play the Oakland A’s and on Tuesday we went to visit the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. I took this photo of one of the jellyfish.
I must say the museum is amazing. There are a lot of cool things to see. The museum is right in the middle of The Golden Gate Park. I don’t know why there was so many people on a Tuesday but it seems that there was a lot of kids from the Boys and Girls Club. We enjoyed it. I also got to see the Planetarium and it is amazing how they used a dome 75 foot projection screen along with 6 projectors to give you a real life 3d experience.
If you are in San Francisco and you have a day to spare then go and visit the museum and enjoy it.
Thanks for reading.

Columbia

I have been pretty busy and haven’t had a chance to post on the blog. Things have been crazy. I tried applying for a job closer to home but didn’t have much luck with that! I will have to keep trying. I have a couple of things that are on my plate at the moment. I had a wedding Saturday that I did and plan to upload some photos from that just as soon as I can. Last week I went on a field trip with my daughter’s class to Columbia in California. It was a nice place and a lot of history. I heard the teachers say how glad they were the weather was cooler than it usually is because it could have gotten hot.
Here is a photo of the old school house at the top of the hill. I threw it in Photoshop to add some effects to it. I had this other shot in mind but there were some people in the way and the rest of our group was leaving me behind.
That all for today. Thanks for reading.

San Francisco
With the weather looking better here in California, I am thinking about taking some road trips but not sure how its going to fit into my schedule. I know we really need to take the family to the snow up in Yosemite and to the beach to go see Monterey and Pismo.
This photo is from when we went to visit San Francisco a while back. It was nice to get away from the valley and get some fresh air in those lungs. I cant wait to get out again.

Central America
Our church is making another Central America trip this weekend and I will not be attending. Our pastor, his wife, son and their sons friend will be visiting Honduras for a couple of days to do some mission work. They will then go and visit El Salvador for a couple of days and then go to Guatemala for the last few days.
Back in 2006 I got to go on this Central American Mission which I thought was amazing. I loved all the culture and the scenery. I did however catch some awful flu that made me ill for a couple of days. When I went we did not go to El Salvador. The church is making this stop to visit their daughter’s in-laws.
While I was there we got to experience the area by encountering some river riding along the Rio Dulce in Guatemala. We also visited some villages with many people that live poorly. We hosted a three night church revival which got the attention of many believers and some non-believers. It caused a couple of issues with the locals but it wasn’t that bad.
We also saw a baptism that took place in probably one of the coolest looking rivers in Honduras. We drove into the jungle for a while and pulled over and hiked down into a stream and witnessed the baptism.
To hear how the people enjoyed our visit is great. I recall the children’s expressions as the church bought a bunch of pizzas and allowed all the children in one village to come and eat. It flew by very quickly.
I cant say I will go to Central America again soon but I know it is something I plan to do again in my lifetime. I just hope that with the way things are in the United States that it doesn’t make it harder to visit these other countries and work with them.

What’s New

I have been pretty busy lately. From working on people’s computers that are infected with malware and viruses to working on web pages. Not too busy with the photography stuff and I kind of miss it. The family and I got a chance to drive down to Los Angeles this weekend and attend a church convention in Torrance, CA. We drove down Saturday night and got up early Sunday morning and headed for the convention. I must say the Los Angeles group “Iglesia Apostolica de la fe en Cristo Jesus” is huge. There were a lot of members there. I actually witnessed three new pastors get sworn in. It was amazing. We left the convention and drove home. I love the Los Angeles weather. As soon as we got on this side of the Grapevine it was back to heavy jackets and warmer clothes. I cant wait to move down to Southern California.
One of the pastors was actually the pastor of the church in Palm Springs. I thought it would be great to introduce myself but I didn’t get a chance to. Maybe next time.
I have also been working with the Mendota Pentecostal Church of God to build a website for them. It has been going good so far. I am working with them tonight to finish up the touches and give them the reigns to take over their page. The page is just up with a normal WordPress theme but we are hoping to get that changed tonight. Check the site out and let me know what you think.
