Foggy Day

February 25th, 2010

Pics-1

I photographed this shot on my way to work this morning.  It was funny because when I left home it was nice and clear and then I got just outside of town where I work at and it started to get foggy.  I usually avoid this road when its foggy but I decided to catch it because of the fog and I didn’t want to miss the shot.  My lens is either dirty or getting in really bad shape because I am noticing lots more spots on it.  I wonder if there is a place I can take it to for them to clean it or fix it.  Anyone have any ideas feel free to leave me a note.

La Marimba

January 6th, 2010

La Marimba

Manuel Perez took this photo of la marimba while he was in Honduras with his church back in 2006.  Manuel and his church went to witness and see first hand the troubles that the people of Honduras experience everyday.  From crime to poverty, Honduras is just a small part of the issues this world has.  Manuel was at a revival on the second night in San Pedro Sulas and  a member from a nearby church brought in a xylophone made out of wood.  The member said he was walking through the jungle one day when he was a child and stepped on a piece of wood and noticed the amazing sound it made.  He fell in love with music ever since.  He made the xylophone out of wood and it makes an amazing sound.  They did a performance for the revival that evening.

San Pedro Sulas – Honduras

San Pedro Sulas - Honduras

I took this photo back in 2006 when my pastor asked if I would go with him and some other church members to Central America.  We flew into San Pedro Sulas, Honduras and stayed there for a couple of days and then we traveled over to Guatemala.  I must say that it was a very interesting trip.  It actually gave me the a view of what the United States Citizens or Population take for granted.  We visited some churches in the area and actually hosted a church revival out in the streets a couple of nights.  Some moments seemed pretty intense when they told us the stories about revivals from the past.  They said the area is crawling with people that will kill you for no reason.  We actually encountered no hostile or violent experiences but there were some interesting characters that we came across.  I will try to put some more photos from Honduras and Guatemala soon but for now you can click on the Honduras and Guatemala categories to view them all.

Modern Wheels

Modern Wheels

I took this photo of this horse drawn carriage with my Minolta Dimage 5.  I snapped this photo of this image while I was visiting Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico.  This horse drawn carriage actually has rubber wheels and a blowhorn to announce to the neighborhood about the specials on vegetables and fruit.  I really love the city of Leon.  My whole plan is to move there with the way this economy is going here in the United States I don’t see why its not on everybody else’s plan.

Guanajuato - Mexico - Hallway

This is a photo of a hallway in the middle of the city of Guanajuato, Guanajuato, Mexico.  This city is so amazing.  It has so much history.  I love how everything is just so busy and full of life.  I snapped this photo with my Minolta Dimage 5.  I am going to be sharing a lot of photos from Guanajuato and Leon in Mexico.  I hope you enjoy them.

Taking It To The Streets

January 15th, 2009

Church Gathering

This is a photo that I took while in Honduras a couple of years back.  I was asked to go with our church to go and take pictures and video for the trip to document the mission.  We were staying in the city of San Pedro Sulas and I think it is a very beautiful place just filled with a lot of loving people.  The pastor’s decided to have a service out in the streets, (Which you can see there really isn’t any streets, just dirt roads except for the city part.)  We had three services on three nights in a row.  It was a great turnout.  Lots of people were able to come and enjoy the services and some even received God for the first time in their lives.  I snapped this photo with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT and my Canon 18 – 55mm lens.  If anyone wants to see more photos from the Honduras trip just let me know.  I will be glad to post them.

China Town

January 7th, 2009

San Francisco's China Town

This is a photo from inside of China Town looking down into the rest of San Francisco.  I snapped this photo with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT and my Canon 28-135mm lens.  China Town is very strange.  Not much to do around there unless you are aware of the Asian culture or if you are hungry.
