Palm Springs Tram

January 4th, 2010

Palm Springs Tramway

Manuel Perez took this photo while in Palm Springs, California during the week of his vacation.  He traveled to the top of Mt. San Jacinto with his wife using the Palm Springs Aerial Tram.  The tram is amazing because it takes you from the bottom of the valley  (Valley Station) which is 2,643ft to the top (Mountain Station) which is 8,516ft in about 10 minutes.  The ride is a little creepy especially when you come to a tower.  This is a photo from within the car looking up at one of the towers along the way.

Manuel Perez was in Palm Springs celebrating his and his wife’s twelve year anniversary.  Upon arriving at the top of the mountain his wife and him went on a hike down the hill to see some of the snow play activities.  It is amazing how the Tram takes you from the desert weather which is about 60-85 degrees to the top which has weather that is about 20-60 degree difference.  Below is a photo of the snow play area.

San Juan Bautista Gardens

San Juan Bautista Gardens

This is a photo of a flower that is in the middle of the gardens next to the mission in San Juan Bautista, California.  I went on the field trip with my daughter to view the mission.  It had been more years than I can remember since the last time I have been there.  Very interesting place and lots of history.

Big Tree

Big Tree from Yosemite National Park

Yosemite is home to some of the biggest trees in the world but if you havent seen them then now is your time to get up there and see it for yourself.  Trees that are so big people back in the day made paths through them to drive.  That is pretty big.  This one here seems to have been dead for some time now.  I think it is about 15 feet high on its side.  I cant imagine how tall it used to be when it was on its base.  I snapped this photo with my Minolta Dimage 5.

The Salmon Colored Gas Saver

January 9th, 2009

Gas Saver

While in San Francisco I couldn’t help to notice this nice little one seater.  It was a salmon colored economy car (Don’t know if the cone is included, although I don’t know where they would put it.)   It was parked inside the Golden Gate Park.  I snapped it with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT.  I would love to hear how much gas mileage is on this thing if anyone knows please feel free to share.

San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park

January 4th, 2009

Big Tree at San Francisco's Golden Gate Park

This weekend I had the chance to go to San Francisco and experience some of its beauty.  One thing that I thought was amazing was the Golden Gate Park.  My wife had seen this article in one of the Via (AAA Insurance Magazine) Magazine Issue, where it had this underground garden.  We went to try and find it but had no luck until we were flipping through some street magazine that we picked up while in the town on Friday.  We seen the same thing she was looking for.  We spent the night and went to see it the next day.  We walked over from the lake to see this amazingly long line to enter the garden.  It must have been over a thousand people in it and it wasn’t moving very fast.  Soon after we heard a lady say, “If you don’t already have a ticket then you will not get in.”  So we gave up and explored the rest of the park. Like this tree that I captured with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT and my Canon 28-135mm lens.  There are more things to see so stay tuned. I am planning on trying to go back during the summer or so to take a trip over to Alcatraz and get my ticket ahead of time for the garden.

Vernal Falls Waterfall in California
This photo was taken with my Minolta Dimage 5 at Yosemite National Park in California. This is a photo of Vernal Falls. You can see how the tree seems to have grown directly from the rock. Amazing!

Sliced Onions

I took these pictures with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT using my Canon 28-135mm lens.  I shot these pictures at a church service we had at the park.  I was running around taking some photos of the members and I noticed these nice juicy tomatoes on the table.  I took some of the onions, which I am not very fond of.
