I would love for these photos to be of real life animals but unfortunately I don’t have the money or resources to travel on a safari in Africa. But if you are interested in sponsoring a trip for my wife and I to Africa for a safari then please feel free to do so. We will travel to wherever you like (as long as its safe and out of harms way) and take as many photos as you like and share them on our website. Wow, that would be cool if I could get someone to sponsor my trips. What would it take to get someone or a company to want to pay for me to travel and see the world? If anyone has any ideas I am all ears.

The photo on the left is my first published photo. It was in a book called Forever In A Moment. I took this photo when I was in Kuwait back in 1998. We had just stopped for a dinner break and I looked outside and saw tat the sun was getting ready to set. I loved the way it looked and so I snapped the photo. I entered the photo in a contest and the photo was chosen to be added to the book. That was my first published piece of work.
This brings me to the question about how to sell your work to others. Earlier this year I was approached by an individual who wanted to buy the rights to use the photo below on some note cards for a workshop he was having. I thought it was so cool to have someone approach me about my work and actually want to buy it from me. I was so nervous because I didn’t know what to charge. I did some research and came back to him with an option of $1 for every copy they were going to print. They were going to print 250 copies of these note cards with my photo on it. I charged them $250 and drew up a document that stated they were only allowed to print that many copies.
The question I have fro the professionals out there is how would you have gone about doing it? Would you have printed the copies yourself or what do you recommend? How do I know they only printed 250 copies? How do I know they aren’t using the photo for something else?
That’s all for today!

Hello Photographers and Readers! I am planning some ideas for the future and one of them is to get some more detailed information from photographers by doing an interview with them. Of course this interview wont be televised but I do plan on posting the questions and answers.Â
I have some questions put together already and want to get any ideas on what kind of information do you want to know about your favorite photographer. If you have an idea on how to get some more publicity for this idea then let me know. I really hope to get as many photographers involved as possible.Â
Once I begin to get some feedback from others, I will begin posting the results from the interviews. If you are know of anyone who is interested in doing the interview please let me know. If you have a favorite photographer that you would like to have interviewed then let me know who they are and I will see if they are interested.
