Have you ever visited the desert and looked for those cactus trees that they show in the cartoons but seen something similar to the one above? The desert is funny like that because there are so many different types of deserts and so many different living creatures and plants within them. The one above is called the Joshua Tree and if you have never been to Joshua Tree National Park then you are missing out! It is amazing with all the scenery.

Have you ever seen ET the movie? Do you recall those big giant wind machines that looked like a huge fan? Here in Palm Springs is where a lot of movies are recorded for those scenes in Palm Springs, CA. There are so many of these all lined up and it seems that every year we go down to the area it looks as if they added another 20 or 30 more.
This is the first photo of my 365 day Photo Project.

I love Palm Springs in the Fall. It is truly something amazing. You can see all the leaves turn orange and the waterfalls are usually a little active.

Winter is here and it feels like the best place to be is either locked up in doors with a cozy blanket and a fireplace or at a nice warm beach in Southern California.

I was going through some old photos and found this one of me while I was in Kuwait back in 1998. We were there for an exercise and we were in some really hot weather. I must say that after being inside the belly of an M1A1 that I have more respect for tankers! God Bless them! This photo of me is me manning the Tank Commander and the 50 Caliber. While in Kuwait we experienced temperatures at about 120 degrees and the driver passed out. They needed someone to man the driver’s seat so they put me in it. I stripped down to my skivvies because it was so hot in there. All I remember was a pool of sweat after we got done. I think I lost some weight while I was over there. I should go back so I can lose some more.
