Closed School Is Spooky

untitled 43 Closed School Is Spooky

Last week my boss and I went out to Oro Loma School to take down some hardware.  We must admit that it was kind of creepy working there.  All the talks about some ghost running around the site had us both freaked out.

We will see when is the next time we have to go out and hopefully not alone.

Thanks for reading.

mexico11 thumb More Photos From Guanajuato, Guanajuato, Mexico

Today is Thursday and we are almost finished with the week and also with our week honoring Mexico.  I didn’t get much feedback from the readers on any posts from this week but I imagine will get some later.  Remember, if you have any photos that you would love to share with us to see please do so.

Today we are going to go through our final day in Guanajuato, Guanajuato, Mexico.  Tomorrow we will see some photos from Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico.  The photo on the left is from inside Guanajuato, Guanajuato, Mexico but I am not quite sure this morning what it is of.  If any of you readers know what it is please let us know.

I love seeing photos in black and white.  It seems that they appear more artistic and interesting.  I love history and I think that it has some amazing things that happened in Guanajuato.

mexico12 thumb More Photos From Guanajuato, Guanajuato, Mexico  The photo on the right is of the statue just outside of the Basilica de Nuestra Señora de Guanajuato which is a church that has some very amazing architecture features.

I love the architecture in Mexico.  It seems that the United States has so many issues with safety that they forget about beauty anymore when creating a new building.  There isn’t anymore of that oomph that interests me and I imagine others.  I think the buildings are more of art than they are buildings in Mexico.  They have so much detail and beauty.

mexico7 thumb More Photos From Guanajuato, Guanajuato, MexicoThis is my last photo from the capital and it is a photo of an alley that had some amazing light coming through and caught my attention.  I stopped as we walked by just to capture a couple of shots.  This alley shouldn’t be confused with the one that a girl and a boy lived across the alley from each other and their parents forbid them from seeing each other but the alley was so close together that they were able to kiss each other without ever leaving the house.  That alley was on another street.  I would have loved to see that one but maybe next time.

That’s all that I have today and stay with us tomorrow as we conclude our trip to Mexico and see some photos from Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico.

Remember, if you have any photos you would like to share about your favorite location in Mexico, please do.  It doesn’t have to be in Guanajuato but it has to be in Mexico.

Thanks for reading!

Simple Life

mexico2 thumb Simple LifeToday is the second day of our trip through Guanajuato, Mexico.  Today I will take you through some of the villages that we visited while we were there and share with you some of the photos that enjoyed taking like the one on the left that I photographed.  This photo was taken with my Minolta Dimage 5.  We visited the village that my mother-in-law grew up in and it was an amazing experience.  The photo in the left contains the donkey looking at us as we walked through the village.  The farmer had some hay burning in the background and it just seemed amazing.  I converted the photo to Black & White using Adobe Photoshop.

The photo on the right is of some dried corn that I got down on the floor to take this photo.  The village has a lot of things that just seem to be lying around on the floor.  I guess the corn is for the rats and chickens to eat.  Not sure but we did come across a dead mouse.  No photo of that here but I do have it if you would like to see it.  Just let me know.

This photo to the left  is of one of the houses my mother-in-law grew up in.  In the backyard they had an old structure that looked like a small home.  It appeared to be run down now and the roof caved in, but the light was shining through this doorway and the flowers were just amazing.

That is all the photos I have for today but stay tuned for tomorrow as we continue our tour through Guanajuato, Mexico.

Guanajuato

mexico1 thumb GuanajuatoToday starts the week of Mexico Photos week, which I mentioned last week that it was a little late but better late than never.  This week I plan to take you along on the trip that our family took when we last visited in  December of 2004.

Today, I am going to share more than one photo with you because Guanajuato, Guanajuato, Mexico is probably one of the most beautiful places to see in Mexico.  It has so much history and amazing architecture.  The above photo is of the Basilica de Nuestra Señora de Guanajuato which is just one of the beautiful churches that Guanajuato has to offer.

mexico6 thumb Guanajuato The photo to the right is of another church just to the right of Teatro Juarez.  Not sure what it is called but if you know and would like to share with us, please feel free.

Guanajuato has so many different places and things to see.  It is full of history.  According to a custom publication of the Fresno Bee that was published on September 8, 2010, Guanajuato, Guanajuato, Mexico is the 2nd top city next to Ciudad de Mexico.  There is so many important history figures that have roamed the streets.

I want to thank The Cultured Traveler for some of their information on the buildings in Guanajuato, Guanajuato, Mexico.  Visit their site to see all the information on the capital.

Stay tuned throughout the week to see more photos from Guanajuato, Mexico.  I am even going to share something that might frighten you!

Thanks for reading!

Campeche

campeche Campeche

This is a photo of a street sign from Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico.  I took this photo back a couple of years ago when my family went to Mexico to visit some family.  The street we used to visit is the Boulevard Campeche Col. Chapalita.  It is a very nice place.  I haven’t been there in such a long time that I wonder how things are going with all the crime and drug wars going on.

I thought of a way to get you readers involved on this one and would like for you guys to send me a photo of the street sign that you like to visit when you go on vacation.  If you like you can post them here or if you are not interested then please let me know.

Next week I plan to do a week about Mexico and include some photos from my trips to the area.  If you have any great photos from Mexico and would like to share them then please feel free to let me share them with our readers.

Thanks for reading!

Downtown Disney, Anaheim, California

catal Downtown Disney, Anaheim, California

This is a photo of Catal which is a restaurant and bar that is right in the middle of Downtown Disney.  I thought that Downtown Disney was amazing.  It has lots of different atmospheres for all types of people.  We actually saw the Fireworks from within Downtown Disney.

The photo above, I used Adobe Lightroom and some presets to touch it up and give it that look.

The photo below was all natural and taken with a 1 second lapse using my Canon EOS 5D Mark II.

If you have some photos that you would like to share with us from Downtown Disney, please feel free to share.

Also, if you have not heard, I am giving away prizes to the first 10 people that comment on this post!  I want to get some feedback from the viewers and I am watching as the numbers go up and down.  I recently made some changes to the way the site operates and have seen a big jump in the hits but a decrease in the actual readers and subscribers.

I really want to get some feedback as to what other might think.  Remember this site was not intended just for me to share my work, but for others to share theirs as well.

Thanks for reading!
