Jonathan Alpeyrie
Recently I had a post about Military Photographers. I didnt get much feedback from anyone, in fact I didnt get any! I was reading in May 2008’s issue of Popular Photographer an editorial by John Owens about Jonathan Alpeyrie who is a war photographer that has been in a lot of tough situations.

He points out some key tips for photographers such as not being too obvious. He also mentions that the key to getting photos is to go out and say hello to someone and then ask to take their picture. He also mentions that if you are in a hurry and working with a band of guerrillas that you might not want to pack too much gear. Only take the necessities.

I thought this was an interesting story and since I had the previous post about Military Photographers I had to share some more information.

Jonathan has done some pretty interesting work and has some pretty amazing places that he has been to. Conflicts that he has covered are some places like Armenia, Ethiopia, the Ivory Coast, and Nepal. He is an amazing photographer. If you would love to see more of his work click here to see his work in Ethiopia!

I am still waiting to hear more from the readers. If you would like to read John’s editorial you will have to get the May 2008 issue of Popular Photography. As of today it isnt on their website yet! I will update you as soon as it becomes available.
