While visiting the Golden Gate Park I came across this huge antenna that was ruining the scenery. Anyone know what it is and what is its purpose? I know that it is an antenna of some kind but why did they put it right in the middle of this beautiful area and not on top of some building? I snapped this photo with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT using my Canon 28-135mm lens from the lake in the park. Anyone know anything about this thing I would love to hear about it.

This weekend I had the chance to go to San Francisco and experience some of its beauty. One thing that I thought was amazing was the Golden Gate Park. My wife had seen this article in one of the Via (AAA Insurance Magazine) Magazine Issue, where it had this underground garden. We went to try and find it but had no luck until we were flipping through some street magazine that we picked up while in the town on Friday. We seen the same thing she was looking for. We spent the night and went to see it the next day. We walked over from the lake to see this amazingly long line to enter the garden. It must have been over a thousand people in it and it wasn’t moving very fast. Soon after we heard a lady say, “If you don’t already have a ticket then you will not get in.” So we gave up and explored the rest of the park. Like this tree that I captured with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT and my Canon 28-135mm lens. There are more things to see so stay tuned. I am planning on trying to go back during the summer or so to take a trip over to Alcatraz and get my ticket ahead of time for the garden.

This is a photo of Toulomne Meadows just above Tioga Pass in California. Very nice place. It is peaceful and full of fresh air. I went on a road trip one day and we went over to Yosemite, then up through Tioga Pass and then over to Mammoth Lakes, then over to Lake Tahoe. It was a long drive but I think it was well worth it. I took this picture with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT and the Canon 17-55mm lens.

This is a photo of the famous Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California. This photo was taken some time back when my wife and I hiked over to the other side of the bridge and I tried getting an angle that would show me more of the bridge but it was impossible unless I had a boat. I was thinking of going over to the north end of the bridge but that shot had already been captured so many times. I took this picture with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT.

I took this photo with my Minolta Dimage 5 just outside of Palm Springs, California. This is the famous wind farm that provides power for so many people. This farm has been seen in a lot of movies like E.T. and so many more.

This is a photo of a real life oasis. I took this photo with my Minolta Dimage 5 just outside of Twentynine Palms, California off of 29 Palms Highway. The oasis is called Fortynine Palms Oasis. I first seen this place back in 1998 when our Platoon went on a run from the highway to it. When I first seen it it was amazing. It had a lot of running water. My family and I hiked over to it back in 2002 and it seemed like the water had diminished. It didnt seem as beautiful as it did before. I plan to go back again someday and take my son to see it.

I know this photo might seem weird or photoshopped but trust me its not. I took this photo with my Minolta Dimage 5 just outside of Yucca Valley, California along Old Woman road. We had traveled down this road so many times and seen this mail box as well but we finally had the chance to take a photograph and share it with you all. This mail box is probably standing about 15 feet high. Pretty crazy.

This is a photo that I took with my Minolta Dimage 5. I took this picture while my family and I were in Palm Springs one weekend. We hiked up this trail on the north end of town and it was about a mile and a half up to this beautiful waterfall. We still have to go back to ride on the tram that goes all the way to the top of the point.

This photo was taken with my Minolta Dimage 5 at Yosemite National Park in California. This is a photo of Vernal Falls. You can see how the tree seems to have grown directly from the rock. Amazing!

This is another example of proper lighting, aperture speed, and a steady hand. I took this photo with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT and my Canon 28-135mm lens. I took this photo at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in the Jellyfish exhibit.
