I am working on building a new PC and I must say it gets pricey when you want to add things like redundancy. I have been purchasing most of the parts from New Egg which is really great with the prices. In fact I think just about all of the parts came from New Egg except for the processor which I got from my friend. Nothing fancy on the cpu but my friend is going to over clock it for me. Here is what we have in it so far.
This does not count all the taxes and shipping for all the different times I had to buy this and then realized I needed this. That is always a pain. I plan on installing Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit on the OS. I also have a 120GB SATA drive that I plan on hosting my OS on and using the 4 – 1.5TB drives in a RAID 5 configuration and use it to store my music, photos and documents on. I will have another 1.5TB drive that I plan on using for Backups which I know I will have to upgrade that soon to keep all the backups on. Thankfully I use Storage Craft to do all my backups and I must say it is the coolest way for backups.
If anyone has any feedback I would appreciate it. I am hoping to have this system up and running by next Friday since I have a Photography Gig coming up. Wish me luck folks!

This is a photo of a set of buildings. I took this shot while I was in Guanajuato, Guanajuato, Mexico. We had just finished seeing a lot of the city and were getting ready to call it a day. I took this photo with my Minolta Dimage 5.

This is a photo of an old abandoned factory that is just outside of New Idria. If you have not seen this place it is something to see at least once in your lifetime. I had been there once when I was a kid and I had mentioned it to my wife and we drove up to see it. I guess the place has been abandoned for some time now. It used to be used for some old mining purposes.
This is a photo of an old grain storage building. I took this photo on my way back from work. Very old building that is never used anymore.

This is a photo of a pillar that I photographed while I was in Central America in Honduras. This pillar stands just outside the church where we stayed at most of the time while in San Pedro Sulas. I love the detail in the photo.

This is a new server that the other Network Engineer is working on at work. He is building this thing from scratch. I know it has something like two Intel Quad Core Processors and I think about 16GB of RAM and a 4.5TB RAID 5 Drive Configuration. This would be a great setup for my photos. I need something to archive my photos onto and also for my backups.
Very Nice Photo that I found on flickr. Amazing Light detail!

I mentioned in my last post about how I worked with Jonathan Alpeyrie to get some of his photos from China posted on my blog site. I had a mishap with my previous blog when it crashed. I was able to re-create the post for him.
Jonathan, if you are not familiar with him, is a War Photographer. His work is known for getting into really tight places and getting those shots that others are afraid to. This photo above is from China of some Migrant workers that are working hard to build the Olympic stadium or coliseum. To view some more of his work go to the site on Flickr and see the shots.
Jonathan, if you are out there sorry it took so long to get these back up and running. I would love to hear from you again and see what you have been up to.
