Rio Dulce – Guatemala

This is a photo that I took while in Guatemala back in 2006 with my church. We were on a boat cruising along The Rio Dulce. Very beautiful place.

This is a photo of two Mallard Ducks that were swimming in the pond at Casa De Fruta. I love to see animals together. I had heard that the Mallard Duck is one that will find a mate and will never find another. I don’t know if that is true according to some reading. If anyone else has more information, we would love to hear it.

This is a photo of a field that has some trash burning. I took this photo while I was in Guanajuato, Mexico. This is some village just outside of Leon where my mother-in-law grew up. It is a very small village and by walking down the streets you can see how things have changed. I seen this field of smoke along with the burro there just standing looking as we passed. I snapped this photo with my Minolta Dimage 5.

This is a photo of a humming bird that I saw while hiking up to the Golden Gate Bridge from the park at the bottom of it. I seen the bird from a distance but didn’t have the right lens to get closer. I tried to focus to keep it clear but I guess it is one of the reasons why I wear glasses. I am blind already and I am trying to focus on something I can barely see. I shot this photo with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT using the Canon 28-135mm lens.

While in San Francisco we tried getting over to Alcatraz but noticed that the tickets were sold out. We caught a glimpse of it from Pier 39. Looks like we will have to try again later. I would probably prefer when it is warmer. I snapped this photo with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT.

This is another example of proper lighting, aperture speed, and a steady hand. I took this photo with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT and my Canon 28-135mm lens. I took this photo at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in the Jellyfish exhibit.

This photo was taken with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT using the Sigma 70-300mm lens. I took this photo while on mission in Honduras. We went up to Guatemala and took a ride on the “Rio Dulce”. This is a very beautiful place and full of life.
