In my experience as a photographer I have done about six weddings. I guess the problem is that I am located in this small town with so few people. The first wedding I did was for a cousin of my wife and it took place in Anaheim. It was a beautiful wedding and the church and hall where we had the reception were beautiful. Another wedding I did was here in Fresno, which was nice. The church was big and the hall was also big. I noticed it was a little harder to get some good photos outdoors because there was so much congestion and we were in such a big hurry.

Recently, I mentioned the 50th anniversary that I was shooting for a family here in town. I think this made my shots a lot easier because we went to shoot at a park in Fresno the weekend before. This made it not so time consuming because we really didnt have to shoot that many pictures right after the ceremony. After the ceremony we went out to a small ranch and shot some photos but not very many. We even had time to go back and relax a bit before the reception.

I think as a photographer timing is crucial and if you cant manage it carefully then things just seem to pile up on you causing you to crash and burn. Anyone have comments about how to do photos before and after a ceremony? I am anxious to hear them.

Hello Everyone!

Sorry it has been so long since my last post! I have been busy editing the video for the 50th Anniversary that I shot last week. I am finished and just putting the DVD Menu together.

I have worked with a lot of people. My Sister-In-Law always claims that I never do a good job with Adobe Photoshop when editing people’s faces. I always tell her that it takes time and money to make the picture perfect. I was working on one picture for this mother that wanted her son’s picture taken for graduation. I snapped his photo but noticed that he had really bad acne. The mother didnt mention anything about fixing his face but I went ahead and did it anyway.

I used Adobe Photoshop to get rid of the spots and scars on his face. I then used Microsoft Digital Image 9 to convert the picture to an Antique look and adjust the colors and brightness.

What is your take on photo retouching? Let me know I am always interested in your comments!

This is a photo of a stream. I had just gotten my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT and was on vacation with the family at Rock Creek in California and was experimenting with the camera. I had it on a slow shutter speed so that I can get the full effect of the water flowing.

This is a photo of a nice beautiful hotel in Las Vegas. I wasnt quite sure of the name but if you know it let me know. It is just right down the street from The Monte Carlo Hotel on the Vegas Strip. My family and I were visiting and we strolled the strip and I snapped this photo.

Hello everyone! I am sad to say that I am too busy to post! I have this big 50th Wedding Anniversary for a client going on tomorrow and I am just anxious to get it over with. I always seem too nervous when it comes to these big events. I will be photographing while my wife’s cousin will be video taping. I will probably have another camcorder that will be mounted on a tripod. Once the whole thing is over I will be editing it using either Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas. I think that Sony Vegas is just much easier than Adobe Premiere. Although there is so much more that you can do with Adobe Premiere.

I will then also be touching up the photos using Adobe Photoshop. Without Photoshop I dont know what I would use to touchup photos and make them perfect. I was photographing a teenage boy the other day for his Junior High Graduation and he had one of the worst cases of acne I had ever seen. The photos were great because of the outfit he had on but his face needed some work. I used the Patch Tool to get rid of the blemishes and scars from the acne. They came out even better.

This is a photo that I took from the inside of Castillo de San Felipe in the middle of Lake Izabal in Guatemala. We went on the tour of the castle which was an old fort used during an old war. It is a very amazing piece of work. I took the picture using my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT.

This is a photo of a rose that I took while visiting the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose. It was a cloudy day and it had rained on and off. We were able to catch this flower just after the rain had stopped for a bit. I took this photo using my Minolta Dimage 5.

This photo is from Las Vegas Nevada. My family and I were walking down the strip and we stopped in front of the Monte Carlo hotel and snapped this picture. It is a beautiful hotel but nothing compared to the other ones like the MGM Grand, Bellagio, and the Mirage. I took this photo with my Minolta Dimage 5.
