The purpose of PerezStudios.com is to allow other photographers and other visual artist a space for them to share their work, experiences and just be able to speak their mind.
I also want a place where people that are just getting started in photography, graphic design, web design and other digital arts to be able to work together and have fun!

About The Author
My name is Manuel Perez, and I was born in Fresno, California in 1978. I fell in love with photography when I was a kid I guess. I always loved photos done in Black and White as they seem to be more intriguing.
After high school I joined the United States Marine Corps and one of the gifts someone gave me when I graduated was an old film camera. I took plenty of photos and eventually bought a new one to use on some of the trips we did.
Four years later, I finished my tour in the Corps and tried to find a job that would allow me to support the family. I couldn’t find anything that I liked so I went to college and studied Computer Information Systems. This gave me an edge because I learned HTML, CSS and other helpful skills that allowed me to develop my webpage skills.
While in school I bought my first Digital Camera. It was a Konica Minolta Dimage 5. It was cool! I used it to take some photos of our family trips and it was then that I realized that I had a knack for taking great landscaping shots. I worked and worked on it and then finally bought my first Digital SLR. The Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT was a big step for me because I wasn’t sure which way to go between Canon or Nikon. I made the choice and was pleased with it.
After school I started working in the Computer field and eventually made my way into Networking with Cisco equipment. Today, I am a full-time Network Engineer for a local school district where I support Cisco network backbones and Voice Over IP telecommunications and all kinds of other computer/network equipment. I have been working in the education field since 2002 and I dabble in photography in my spare time.
While working full-time as a Computer Technician and in my spare time taking photos of beautiful landscapes, I then started taking some portraits for some friends and family and just kept going. From sports team photos to weddings and all types of ceremonies.
Just this summer I made a big investment and purchased the Canon EOS 5D Mark II, which has made me feel great about investing all the money in the Canon compatible lenses and accessories. The 21 Megapixel CMOS is great too!
Now, I am here to share my experiences and have some fun with you all so please don’t hesitate to ask me anything. If you have an idea about something, then I am all ears. I still love to take photos and every once and a while will have something that is fresh and new to the site but I promise to always have at least 5 posts per month as of August 2010.
